How To Be A Professional

Becoming a professional really isn't as hard as it seems, all you have to do is follow 10 easy steps;

Step 1: BE ON TIME. There is nothing worse than being late to a job/internship as this gives a very bad first impression.

Step 2: BE EAGER AND BECOME A SPONGE.  Being eager just means you are internally driven and always are willing to learn new things.

"You learn something new every day"

Step 3: DON'T SAY NO TO OVER TIME, NIGHTS & WEEKENDS. Even if you feel like you've had a hard week of work and all you want to do is let your hair down. Think again, this is your time to shine and show your bosses/mangers that you are willing to give up anything for this job.

Step 4: HAVE A GOOD ATTITUDE. If you think of your colleagues as your worst nightmare, you won't get very far in your profession. Your colleagues are your new best friends and you must be the sweat, smiling new girl/boy that everyone loves.

Step 5: DRESS APPROPRIATELY. Of course go ahead and express yourself, however, save some clothes for the weekends.

Louis Vuitton Experience

The highlight of today consisted of a trip down to see the Louis Vuitton 'Experience'- I put the word experience in apostrophe due to the fact that even thou it showcases lots of artwork and their history, it isn't an exhibition, it was an experience of the brand. From the minuet you walked in the building you are greeted by these very glamourous  ladies wearing an all-black outfit, with shiny, slicked back hair and glossy red lips. While I was standing there after running for about 20 minuets all over london to find the experience, so I wouldn't be late on my first day, with my hair like I had just walked out of a bush and my make-up which was no-exsistant after the wind had blown it off and the sweat had allowed it melt off my face- I looked right at home. After being greeted you we're then sent into the experience which again, was very glamourous glossy white floor, bright lighting, cream carpets; it was as if you were in Louis Vuitton's office. Overall I really enjoyed the experience as it made me feel apart of the brand; from watching people making LV clutches, to looking at the runway. It made me feel, in a way, special.

Featuring in Teen Now

I was asked to feature in one of Teen Now's articles, where I had to write about my opinion on different perfumes. This was really interesting and gave me a great understanding of how column writing works.

Work Experience For Teen Now

During work experience with Teen Now, I help on a photo-shoot staring the up and coming singer Nina Nesbitt. On this photo-shoot, I helped with everything. From styling Nina, to calling the clothes in, picking the photos I thought worked best for the shoot and then finally helping the designer with the layout. This experience really help me to understand the industry and how it works.

Deconstruct and Reconstruct

This project is was all about taking something old and making it look brand new. For this project I decided to focus on the material denim, and make a classic denim jacket into something new and interesting. For this project, promotion students also have to work for a magazine; I chose Vice.
