Featuring in Teen Now

I was asked to feature in one of Teen Now's articles, where I had to write about my opinion on different perfumes. This was really interesting and gave me a great understanding of how column writing works.

Work Experience For Teen Now

During work experience with Teen Now, I help on a photo-shoot staring the up and coming singer Nina Nesbitt. On this photo-shoot, I helped with everything. From styling Nina, to calling the clothes in, picking the photos I thought worked best for the shoot and then finally helping the designer with the layout. This experience really help me to understand the industry and how it works.

Deconstruct and Reconstruct

This project is was all about taking something old and making it look brand new. For this project I decided to focus on the material denim, and make a classic denim jacket into something new and interesting. For this project, promotion students also have to work for a magazine; I chose Vice.

Industry Project

This project was ultimately to give me a sense of what working in the industry is like. I was put in a group with three other students, two fashion women's wear designers and a fellow promotion student. We were given a designer (Jil Sanders) which we were to work, and were also given a quote. From the quote, we pick up the key words 'disruption' and 'question what you know'. Therefore, our main aim was to disrupt the brand.

My main focus of the group, was to create a campaign for our A/W 2015 collection. This entailed me doing photography, editing and finally putting the campaign together.

Final Campaign:

As a group, we all came together to work on a look book. This consisted of me doing the photography and also editing it all together and the designers drawing over the images which I had taken, to create the final S/S 2015 collection.

Art Science Prize

The art science prize is a competion which I entered, where I had to create a product which was relatable to both art and science. The scientific theme was 'Energy of The Future'. The product I create was called Jolar (This is due to the fact the jacket used solar power enable to warm up), and was a self heating jacket aimed for the elderly and save their unaffordable energy bills going up.

Within this project I created a prototype, completed a photo shoot. Overall I came runner up in the competition and was given inspiring feedback from allocated judges coming from The Science Museum and even Disney.
